Winter is here. It’s not coming, it’s not on its way, it has arrived. And boy oh boy is it cold. This year promises to be extra chilly and with energy bills skyrocketing I thought I’d share some of my economical winter must haves that will keep your mind lighter, you skin less ashy and most importantly warm!
1. Keep your mind a little lighter with a SAD lamp - Seasonal affective disorder or SAD is something that has popped up a lot in the last few winters the experets say that you "It most typically occurs during the fall and winter, when days become short and exposure to sunlight decreases" the SAD lamp reduces symptoms and provides relief by replicating natural daylight. It’s something you may actually need to help with the down days this winter.
2. Shower oil - there's something frustrating about winter ash. It seems like no matter how many layers of lotion you put on, you still have a 50% chance of getting ashy! This winter I recommend that you call in reinforcements such as shower oil or body oil, either way we are layering oil and lotion in this battle.
3. Keep those feet warm with thermal socks - I love a good thermal, its like walking around with a secret shield against the elements. And thermal socks are key to keeping the body heat from seeping out, here is a multipack of bestsellers.
4. Hot water bottles are the little friend I recommend keeping extra close this winter. Whether in bed or sat watching tv in the lounge I would advise everyone to own one. It feels like a warm hug and honestly I prefer it to an electric blanket.
5. Layer up with a Thermal top - I mentioned my love for thermals and how they are my secret shield above and a thermal top is the ultimate underlayer for winter chill. You can wear close to anything this underneath.
Happy shopping.
